Privacy Policy

We built Battle Kit to help you walk with Christ, not to collect information about you. There are no ads, no analytics, no tracking across apps or websites, and we never sell or rent anyone’s information.
The short version. Your reading, prayers, and streaks stay on your phone. If you use communities, we keep what’s needed to run them: your display name, your email if you create an account, your community memberships and daily check-ins, and the messages you send. You can delete all of it yourself at any time.
Who we are
Look Up Ministries (“we”, “us”) runs the website lookupministries.us, the iOS app Look Up Ministries - Battle Kit, and the member web app at lookupministries.us/app. Questions about this policy: [email protected].
What stays on your phone
These never leave your device and we cannot see them: your private name used for greetings, reading-plan progress, discipleship-track progress, streaks, prayer requests and answered prayers, your accountability partner’s name and phone number, memorized verses, your chosen Bible translation, and your Daily Fire notification time. Deleting the app deletes them.
What we collect, and why

We do not collect your location, contacts, photos, health data, purchase history, or advertising identifiers. The camera is used only to scan community QR codes and for video calls you choose to join; the microphone only for those calls. Face ID or Touch ID, if you turn it on, is handled entirely by your iPhone: we never receive your face or fingerprint data, only your phone’s yes-or-no answer.
Video Bible studies and calls
Video rooms run on a server we host ourselves (Jitsi). Audio and video pass through that server to the other people in the room. Calls are not recorded or stored. Like any live call, the server sees the IP addresses of participants while the call is in progress. Only members of the community or conversation can enter its room.
Services that help us run this
We share only what each one needs to do its job, and none of them may use it for their own marketing:
- Apple Push Notification service delivers notifications to your device.
- Cloudflare sits in front of our website for security and speed, and processes web traffic, including IP addresses, on our behalf.
- Resend sends our email: password-reset codes to you, and form submissions to our own inbox.
- Crossway (ESV API) provides Bible text. Our server requests passages by reference (for example “John 3”); Crossway does not receive your name, email, or member ID.
When you open a passage in another translation, the app sends you to bible.com or the YouVersion app, which have their own privacy policies. We may also disclose information if the law requires it or to protect someone from serious harm.
Children and youth
Battle Kit is not directed to children under 13, and children under 13 may not create an account. If we learn that we hold information from a child under 13, we will delete it. Youth communities do not allow private messaging between members. We encourage parents, guardians, and church leaders to be involved in how teenagers use any community app.
Deleting your information
- In the app: Settings → Account → Delete account.
- On the web: sign in at lookupministries.us/app → Account → Delete account.
- By email: write to [email protected] from the address on your account and we will delete it within 30 days. Use this too if you used communities without an account, or to remove a website form submission.
Deleting your account permanently removes your email, display name, memberships, check-ins, notification tokens, and every message you sent. It cannot be undone. Communities you led pass to their longest-standing member. You can also delete individual messages you sent at any time, and leave any community.
You may ask us for a copy of the information we hold about you, or to correct it, at the same email address.
How long we keep things
Account and community information is kept until you delete it or your account. Password-reset codes expire after 15 minutes. Sign-in sessions expire after 30 days on the web and one year in the app. Website form submissions are kept until the request is handled or you ask us to remove them.
Security
All traffic is encrypted in transit (HTTPS). Passwords, sign-in tokens, and reset codes are stored only as hashes. Access to the server and the admin console is limited to ministry staff. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a password you don’t use anywhere else.

Changes
If we change this policy in a way that matters, we will update the date above and post a notice in the app’s announcements before the change takes effect.
